The Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter will lift the spirits and propel crowds at a Hipperholme day out.

The iconic yellow flying ambulance will be on show at the Old Brodleians Rugby Club on Saturday, November 8, from noon until 3pm.

People in the community will get the chance to meet the pilots and have their picture taken alongside the renowned lifesaving helicopter.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the Old Brods official charity partner, has set an ambitious fundraising target of £9,990 and has raised more than £4,000 so far.

It costs £9,900 daily to keep the Air Ambulance operational. Richard Turner, the Old Brods chairman, said: “Saturday promises to be a unique day for the community.

“It’s a rare opportunity to see the helicopter up-close, meet the skilled pilots and we look forward to welcoming people of all ages.”

The charity’s logo features on the club’s first team playing kit and on the boards around the main pitch.

Entry to see the helicopter is free but the club hopes that many people will place any spare change in the charity’s buckets to contribute to the ongoing costs to run the Air Ambulance.
The Old Brods will come up against the Bradford Salem at 2.15pm on the adjacent pitch. Free entry.

The money raised so far was generated through a golf day, charity matches and the Great Glen Challenge.
