Puzzle fanatics can be part of the annual Charity Jigsaw Festival held at St Martin’s Parish Church in August.

Following its success, the event is returning for a third year and planning is well advanced for the festival , which is to be held between August 22 and 25.

A donation from the proceeds of the event will be made to the local Calderdale charity Together for Looked-after Children. Although TLC is a young charity it has already provided book parcels for primary school children through its Letterbox scheme, Busy Box craft kits for pre-school children and tuition for GCSE students with ambitions to go on to higher education through its enrichment fund.

The festival organisers have collected 725 jigsaws towards the target of 1,000 but are seeking donations of speciality items particularly jigsaws of steam trains, vintage cars, vintage planes, wasgij, impossipuzzles, puzzles with CDs and books included.

People willing to donate jigsaws, make them up or others who wish to donate jigsaws or will assemble donated ones can contact Alan Sparks on a 07860 868714 or email alan.sparks@stmartinsbrighouse.org.uk.
