Vibrant female vocalist Dee Davis will provide the entertainment at the Old Pond pub, Hove Edge, on Saturday from 9pm. On Wednesday there is quiz night and Friday will be the regular karaoke session.

Hits from the 80s will be delivered by vocalist PJ Devlin at Blakeborough Social and Sports Club, Brighouse, on Saturday, September 21. Doors open at 7pm. On Sundays there will be bingo from 1pm.

Neil and Sandra Catlow at the Grove, Rastrick, have left the pub for pastures new and there is a new landlord and lady at the pub in the form of Ann Wilson and George Wilson.

Popular DJ Jiving Jeff has his record hop on September 27 at Lightcliffe club.

It starts from 7pm and he will have male solo artist Wayne Gee performing.

The Ossett Brewery is hosting an open day in aid of the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice near Brighouse.

As many of you will enjoy a pint of their ale served in many pubs in the Echo readership area, they thought they could pass on that on September 28 they will have an open day between 1pm and 7pm with an outside bar offering pints at £2.50.

There is a rain cover in place and there will be live bands, a brewery tour, games and inflatables, a barbecue, grand raffle and face painting.

A Brighouse pub has been acclaimed for the quality of its real ale – by members of the town’s Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) branch.

The Richard Oastler in Bethel Street is listed in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2014.

Local branch members chose the Wetherspoon pub following regular visits to check on the quality of the real ales on offer.

They also took into account customer service, décor and overall atmosphere.
