Great News! The Clough House at the top of Rastrick has now re-opened.
After a short closure following the departure of Martin and Lauren Cockram, it’s great news that the pub is open again.
Ash Pubs and Taverns have taken on a two year lease from owners Enterprise Inns.
Bev Walsh, who has been running Exley Park, Siddal, Halifax, for the last three years says she is looking forward to the challenge of managing the once popular pub.
The kitchens are being run separately but will begin serving food from tomorrow (Friday).
The Beck in Bradford Road has opened its doors to Sunday sessions for music that will take place on the first and third Sunday in every month. The events starts at 4.30pm.
Last Sunday, on its first run out, they had six artists with a showcase of excellent live acoustic music that covered genres in blues, jazz and folk music.
Tonight at the Barge, Brighouse, the jam session is with Mike Brown, then on Friday it’s there is glam rock music band called Glam.
On Saturday it’s the return of the popular Vagabond. A mixed set of 80’s stadium rock covers, a Bon Jovi show, and a few party numbers thrown in.
Had a tip off from a local resident a couple of weeks ago that he had seen some movement at the Whitehall public house at Hipperholme.
I can confirm that `To Let’ signs are down and the pub will be opening at the beginning of November and we shall bring you more information as soon as we can.
More good news this week as I also hear that the Black Bull in Thornton Square has re-opened. I will bring you more news asap but it’s great that the pubs are fighting back and re-opening again.
