New award celebrates Calder Valley's community heroes
Our care workers and community leaders are keeping us safe and keeping our communities going whilst we tackle COVID-19, but this award is for the countless other unsung heroes who are all playing their part to help each other and strengthen the sense of community we have in Brighouse and the Calder Valley.
These heroes are business owners who have offered much-needed supplies, they are the good samaritans who reach out to the elderly and isolated - and they are the hundreds of local people who have volunteered to help out at our time of need.

As a food retailer during the pandemic, the shop was considered an essential business and therefore remained open and suddenly the business changed to serve local people in a very different way.
Ways to shop included:
1. In-person - we’re here from 9 am - 3 pm and you’re allowed to shop for food so if you’re fit and well call in and say hello (from 2 meters away of course)
2. Collection - phone your order through and we’ll have it ready to pick up at 3 pm for orders placed before 12 pm
