When the build up towards Christmas gained momentum, and just as the team were looking to find a larger space to showcase their stock, the November lockdown landed.

On January 2, Brick Shack reopened in their current home - inside the My Secure Self Store in Brighouse - but the excitement was quickly shattered when the third lockdown came into effect a couple of days later.

“We’re always looking for the positives of the situation,” saidMark. “During this lockdown we’ve had the chance to increase our stock and plan for the longer term.”

With the Prime Minister now announcing a provisional re-opening of non-essential retail on April 12 there is optimism back in the shop. “Our fourth opening will hopefully be the last!” said Debbie.

“We’ve already managed to meet some amazing parents who are working tirelessly to keep their children happy and we hear how important LEGO has been in the activities.”

Mark added: “‘Everything is awesome’ was the catchphrase for the LEGO movie and hopefully the rest of 2021 will bring about plenty of positive developments for the households in the district.”
