Retelling the shocking story of a murderess

This modern drama explores the actions and their consequences of Ruth Ellis, the last woman in England to be sent to the gallows (in 1955) at the age of twenty eight.

Ellis was a divorcee with a young child to care for.

Through necessity she worked in the kind of nightclubs where more than a drink was on offer.

She worked her way up to become manageress of the “Little Club” where she met and soon became totally obsessed with racing car driver David Blakely.
