One of the most popular pantos is putting the finishing touches to this year’s production which will once again offer another laugh-a-minute, rib-tickling evening of first class entertainment.

Over the last 30 years the pantomime society at St John’s Church, Rastrick, has been well known throughout Calderdale for putting on a show of first class entertainment for the whole family.

This year the society has chosen Robinson Crusoe, which will run at the church’s community hall from Monday, December 8 until Saturday, December 13.

The show will start at 7.15pm every night, apart from Saturday when there will be a matinee at 2pm with the evening show at 7pm.

Once again Neil Denham will feature prominently among the cast as he takes on the role of Dame Crusoe.

Aanother well known funny man, David Williams, is Curly Crusoe; Felicity Austin is Robinson Crusoe; and Hannah Jones is Girl Friday. The laughter is bound to flow with comedy duo, Catherine Chippendale and Nicola Logue taking on the roles of the Captain and Captain’s mate with Sarah Clegg taking on the role of Curly’s love interest, Shirley.

Tickets are still available, apart from the Saturday matinee which is sold out, and they can be obtained from Sharon Berry on 01484 719143.

This week Sharon, who is helping to produce the show with Graham Readshaw, said although it was not a traditional panto it came with the usual St John’s slapstick and high standard of previous years and is highly entertaining.
