Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band held its inaugural youth workshop on August 30

Brighouse and Rastrick Band held a youth workshop for young brass players on August 30. The event, which was completely free of charge, attracted 24 young players between the ages of nine and 18. The event included an extensive amount of tuition provided by B&R’s world-class principal players in addition to full band sessions conducted by Dean Redfern, conductor of the Brighouse and Rastrick Youth Band. The tutors also joined together to play a thirty minute concert. Stuart Lingard, band manager of B&R, said: “Everyone had a great time.”

The B&R senior band will collaborate with all-girl band “Boobs and Brass” - which raises money for breast cancer - at Huddersfield Town Hall on Saturday, October 25. To book tickets, call Graham Ward on 01484 712344.
