Trade at The Globe in Rastrick has picked up since the refurbishment six months ago.

Anne Sild said they had been hosting a lot of small functions at the pub in Rastrick Common which included a wedding as well as birthdays and funeral teas.

“Everyone said what a great day they had at the wedding and how much they enjoyed the food. It has been nice that some guests have now become regular diners at the pub,” said Anne.

They have a meal deal running which offers two courses for £7.95 or three for £9.95 Tuesday through to Friday now until 8pm.

Booking is advisable due to its popularity.

From the beginning of September, the Christmas menu will be available and they have already begun taking bookings.

Anne shares the cooking with chef Eddie Sykes, who also had a market stall on the Brighouse market selling his pies, cakes, curry and other tasty delights.

Anne said: “Its been a great partnership so far as people who have been at the Globe for a meal have also been down to Eddie’s market stall and bought food from him and then people who have been regulars to his market stall have been and dined at the pub.”

The pub has also launched its own Facebook page which has now got a good following built and is updated on a regular basis.

Last week, Anne and husband Alan held a Psychic Evening, with the Psychic holding a group reading before doing individual readings and tarot cards.

Anne and Alan were so pleased with the response that they are thinking of holding another in the near future.

And finally, this Christmas will see Anne and Alan celebrate a decade in the pub and set them as one of the current longest serving landlord/lady in the Rastrick area, which is a great achievement after what has happened in the past few years.
