Talented local artists and craftspeople will be displaying their works at a special art weekend being held next month in Rastrick, which will also have a musical flavour.
The weekend and sale of work will be held at St John’s Church, from Friday, May 17, until Sunday, May 19.
One of the highlights of the event will be a demonstration by well-known local artist Matthew Evans, who last year delighted his audience with his spectacular brushwork.
The preview evening on the Friday runs from 7pm to 9pm and will be held in the church. Tickets cost £5 from Graham Readshaw on 01484-713699, Barbara Rukin 01484-718993 or Matthew Evans 01484-722713.
On Saturday there will be a craft workshop and sale from 10.30am to 3pm when local craftspeople will be displaying their skills at quilting, jewellery making, wood burning, painting and card making. Entry fee is £1.50.
There will be a varied exhibition of work by a number of talented local artists in the church from 10.30am until 4.30pm on Saturday and from 11.30am to 1.30pm on the Sunday.
On Saturday evening members of Paddock Orchestra will present A Summer Concert of Light Classical Music in the church from 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 for adults and £3.50 for children avilable from Anne Beaumont on 01484-716871. Doors open at 6.45pm when the bar will also open.
