The box office for Brighouse’s second Art Festival is now open and tickets are on sale for the music, poetry and drama events and exhibitions taking place from September 14 to 21.
Highlights of this year’s festival include performances by Marc Robinson and the Counterfeit Crickets at Brighouse Civic Hall and the Ossett Ukulele Orchestra at St John’s Church, Rastrick.
Audiences will get the chance to dress up and Sing-a-long to Grease at the Civic Hall and dance to the rhythm and blues sounds of the Welsh T-Band and Dan Burnett and Lucy Ziris at Rastrick Cricket Club.
Organiser Tom Ratcliffe said: “Once again the festival offers a wide range of musical styles and there is also a strong emphasis on the written and spoken word with a presentation by the Elmet Trust on the poetry of Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath.
“We have been very pleased this year because artists and performers - such as Talking Stock Theatre - have been getting in touch asking to take part in the festival.”
Mr Ratcliffe said the festival programme had been organised to have wide appeal to all ages.
“We hope we will see large numbers of Brighouse people enjoying a lively end to the summer,” he said.
