Rangers mourn Hinchliffe loss

Brighouse Rangers Amateur Rugby League Club have announced the passing away of their long standing member Brian Hinchliffe.

Club official and Pennine Amateur Rugby League management member Matthew Barraclough revealed Brian had passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, June 16 at his home in Rastrick alongside his devoted wife Jennifer.

He had battled along for the past few years through ill health, but always kept his spirits up, even to just two weeks ago when he attended the Brighouse Rangers Annual Presentation Dinner, where a plaque was presented to him that is to be adorned on the changing rooms of Brighouse Rangers at Brighouse Sports Club, that will forever be called `The Brian Hinchliffe Rooms’.

For the past 40 or so years Brian has been involved with Rangers, and has been one of the unsung heroes of the backroom staff, doing every job from kit man, player registrations and touch judge for the club.
