Old Brods entertain Malton and Norton this Saturday (3.00pm) in what is bound to be an important test of the Hipperholme-based club’s credentials and aspirations for a top-four place this season in Yorkshire One.

With a high-scoring start to the season, the only blip so far being the reverse at Bridlington, Brods sit on 15 points behind Malton on 16 and leaders Brid on 18.

Home advantage is bound to count for something and Brods will be looking to extend their unbeaten home record to eleven matches.

The Brods squad is strong in depth and it will need to be as the season develops. The hooking position is likely to be under the spotlight with James Ogden already ruled out for several weeks and Jack Andrews having to leave the field on Saturday.

Reece Ward and Callum Thompson will most likely also be available this coming weekend and the coaching team should be able to pick from strength.
