They played some open attacking rugby in their group of five to reach the final for the second year running.

They came top of the group, scoring 14 tries with only two conceded. .

The final against Sheffield was an even affair until the visitor’s star centre made a stunning break from mid-field to score a classy try. Sheffield were then able to make a number of changes at half-time to keep their players fresh for the second period. Brods lack of squad numbers told.

Sheffield scored a second from a scrum close to the Brods line, with their scrum half darting over in the corner. Brods did manage to pull back a try through Harris Morris and they battled to the end for an equaliser but it was not to be.

l FOR the first time the Old Brods Broncos U12 team featured in a festival in their own right and put in a tremendous all round effort over the course of their five games.

After a count back of tries scored, the Broncos deservedly progressed to play West Park Leeds in the Bowl final.

Unfortunately it proved one game too many against a very strong and powerful Leeds outfit and try as they might the home side could not make an impression on the visitors who ran out worthy winners 6 - 0.
