Riders in Brighouse are gearing up for a challenging bike ride.
The 25 miles cycle route on Sunday, September 29, will take in some of the rewarding views around the borough. Starting at Woodvale Office Park off Bradford Road this challenging ride will go up to Hipperholme and on to Queensbury. It will skirt the famous Black Dyke Mill and heads on to ‘Mountain’ and the picturesque 360 degree views over Ogden and Mixenden reservoirs.
Returning through the pretty village of Warley and skirting the canal back to Brighouse.
The event is part of Sky Rides Local and are free, fun guided bike rides that offer a great way of getting out and exploring the local area with friends and family.
The rides are guided by British Cycling Ride Leaders along the planned routes. They are open to people of all ages with some gifts up for grabs.
Daniel Goodey recreation manager, said: “You don’t need to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you.”
The race in Brighouse starts at 10am. Visit goskyride.com for more details.
