Medals galore as Brighouse SC shine at Beverley

Brighouse Swimming Club headed to Beverley last weekend for The Doncaster Dartes Sprints at the town’s leisure centre.

There were personal bests all round for the 14-strong squad that held their own among the 27 clubs that took part.

Brighouse finished in eighth overall which included Cameron Price winning the Top Boy Award for his efforts in the boys’ 14-year age group. Cameron also took home five gold medals!

Megan Walch, Ellis Kaye and Emily Layden-Fritz all finished in the top five in their age groups and winning handfuls of medals between them.

Gold, silver and bronze medals were brought home to Brighouse along with Speeding Tickets for Ruby Harris, Ben Bottomley and Daisy Bottomley.

Coach Brian Smart was poolside with his swimmers for the duration of the events and couldn’t have been prouder.

Rachel Hobson, Evan Clark, Martha Garnett, Poppy Layden-Fritz, Emma Sykes and Laura Whittington also took part. Ben Bottomley and Cameron Price have qualified for The North East Regionals at Sunderland.
