Long time friends Stephen May and Danny Lax teamed up to win the tough Pairs major, the 27 hole Golden Jubilee Pairs at Crow Nest Park Golf Club.

Played in extreme conditions throughout the day, the strong pairing of May and Lax would not be denied as they rose to the challenge of this gruelling 27 hole marathon.

The event, which is played in three loops of nine holes, tests every department of a golfers game, and in many instances tests the strength of a pairs friendship. The fist nine holes is a four ball better ball, the middle nine holes is a greensomes format, with the last nine holes being played with a foursome format.

The winning score was an overall net score of 97 which, under the conditions, was an excellent return. In second place, losing out by the narrowest of margins, was Ben Adamson and Nathan Scott who returned a score of 97.1.

The father and son pairing of Jacob and Mark Campbell came third.
