Lightcliffe CC third XI captain Bruce Lunn received the Halifax Cricket League Sunday Section Division 1 Trophy under cover in Huddersfield YMCA RUFC’s function suite, which acts as the clubhouse for Augustinians CC.

This is the first time the club’s thirds have won the League and added to the Warhurst Cup won at the end of June has meant the “Double” for the team.

Rastrick CC have ended in eighth postion of the twelve clubs in the Cedar Court Conference following a losing draw away to Kirkheaton.

There had been a hope that the Round Hill men might finish in the top six with a chance of figuring in the reshaping of the Huddersfield League in the close season but they remain for 2013 in the third tier of the strong league.

Kirkheaton scored 170 with former Bradford League stalwart and high achiever Murphy Walwyn hitting 51. Nick Knight returned impressive figures of seven for 49.

Rastrick’s reply ended on 143-8 with Lee Walker hitting 64.

Dewsbury moorlands, who play at Mirfield and were playing their first season in the Huddersfield League, are the impressive League champions by a clear 21 points from Emley Clarence.

Shepley headed off Kirkburton and Elland to win the Premiership and Slaithwaite beat Meltham by 10 points to win the Frank Platt Championship.
