The climax to a great season of golf took place last Saturday at Crow Nest Park Golf Club as 110 members, partners and guests attended the Annual end of season Club Presentation Night.

The awards ceremony took place in the club`s function suite for the second time since its completion late last year.

The attendees were rewarded with a night of fine food, entertainment and a slick presentation of prizes.

The evening had been organised by club Captain Shaun Higgins and his Vice-Captain John Cryer and started with a Prosecco and Kir Royale reception from 6.30 pm.

The three course meal included dishes such as roast rand of beef, sticky toffee pudding and deep fried brie, with the members having a choice of three dishes for each course.

The food was excellent, which when accompanied by great service and proved to be a winning combination for clubhouse manager Jon Stark.

During the meal entertainment was provided with local singer Adam Daniel, providing his own blend of crooning and opera, a rare blend but it was very well received.

In addition the diners were entertained by DF Magic, a Manchester-based table magician. Most of the major trophy winners were present to formally receive their trophies on the night as the various section Captains announced the winners.

The highlight of the night was the announcement of the new prize of the President’s Putter which was awarded to Barbara Horrocks and Tom Holmes, being the most consistant performers in three of their section’s major events. Tom Holmes followed up this success to also claim on the night, the coveted award of Golfer of the Year.
