BRIGHOUSE Town player-manager Paul Quinn has declared himself “massively pleased” with his team’s perfromance this season.
“It was a turbulent time when I took over at Town. My first remit from the committee was to stabalise things and we achieved this by December. To think from then to finishing the season in fourth place, and highest position to date for the team,” said Quinn.
“We wanted to put the club back on the map and by achieving this it should make things a little easier when we start looking for players for the next season. We can really start to push forward.
“All the lads are free agents right now, so to speak, but they have bought into what we are doing and I would like to think that they will show their commitment and have a crack again next season.
“We will need some more additions to the team but I am very pleased with the talented young bunch that we have already got,” he said.
Pre-season training starts on June 26 and Quinn believes this will be key to the team’s preparation.
He hopes to play a number of pre-season friendlies, including a couple of the local big teams.
“We have made a few structural changes at the club for next season moving forward.
“We want to be developing on and off the field and we have plenty going on and we are really excited about the foundations that have been laid,” said Quinn.
The club is seeking applicants for the crucial role of manager for the development side.
“The team will be focused on developing the club’s current crop of young players, and recruiting from the surrounding areas.
“The side will be using the East Lancashire League to progress the group. The league features other reserve sides from the Northern Counties East league and above,” he said.
The role will primarily focus on the development squad, however the manager will also work closely with both the first team and under-18 squads.
Applicants should be able to commit to training sessions and match days, mainly Saturday and some mid week evening games.
Applicant need to send a covering letter along with an up to date CV to club secretary Malcolm Taylor at firstname.lastname@example.org .
For an informal discussion about the role they should contact Quinn on 07725315590.
The deadline for applications is Monday, May 14 at 5pm.
