Town sign up major sponsor
BRIGHOUSE Town Football Club have announced that they have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Dual Seal Glass Ltd to be their first team shirt sponsor.
In what is a first for the club, their St Giles Road ground will now be known as the Dual Seal Stadium as part of the agreement.
An added bonus to the deal is the current Britannia Sports U-13s side, which plays in the RCD Huddersfield Junior Football League, will be run as Brighouse Town Under-14s from next season and will play their home games at the Dual Seal Stadium.
This is an exciting move by the club and is seen as the first step in its ambition of having closer ties with junior football in the area with the ultimate goal of players progressing to first team level.
Dual Seal Glass Ltd, of Huddersfield, is one of the UK's leading independent processors of high performance glass for the construction industry. They have supplied all the glass for the Chelsea FC state-of-the-art training facility in Cobham, Surrey, the new MK Dons stadium at Milton Keynes and the new Huddersfield University building on the ring road. The firm says it is delighted to be getting behind Brighouse Town.
Club chairman, Chris Lister, said: "We were looking for a new main sponsor to come on board to help us complete the necessary ground work we had agreed to undertake to be allowed to enter the Northern Counties East League.
"The deal with Dual Seal has allowed us to complete that work and now we are looking at the next step of adding public toilets and covered standing for 100 people at the ground which would give us a facility that would pass the Premier Division criteria.
"I would like to thank Dual Seal Director Nigel Meredith for his support in helping us towards our aim to build Brighouse Town into a club the local community can be proud of."
Nigel Meredith explained: "We currently sponsor professional clubs Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants but we have been very impressed by what Brighouse are trying to achieve in their first experience at the semi-professional level so we are delighted to become a major sponsor."
l Town end their first season in Northern Counties East on Saturday at home to Staveley MW (3.00) and manager Mark Brier would like to go out on a high note against the form team of the division.
"This will be a hard game for us as they have gone from mid-table when we played there and drew with them to the top four and on the back of a 15-match unbeaten run until they lost last week.
"I am hoping that we can draw a good crowd to this game, one we will certainly be up for before we hold a mini celebration afterwards with regards where we have come from and what we have achieved on and off the field this season and there has been a lot.
"It is a decent level of football in this league and we have learned a lot while under achieving, as we could have done better which was the case last Saturday when we could have won and especially with the performance in the second half.
"There are lots of positives to take out of the season, again on and off the field, and Darren Attwood and myself know from the football aspect we have done well against the better teams but haven't put our chances away and in many cases given them too much respect and suffered as a result.
"Another positive to come from the season is that Brighouse Town is a club that has now come to the fore and is on the football map, as we have good conversations with some players already about coming here next season and players have already been in touch with regards to joining us pre-season for trials."
