Halifax face the Dales Council at New Farnley without the likes of Robert and Richard Laycock, Tom and Jack Earle and Jamie Sykes, who all have wedding-releated events to attend.

Thornton’s Josh Hutchinson and Sowerby Bridge’s Sam Mellor have dropped out of the team originally named by Jer Lane opener Pinfield a week ago, Triangle pair Jack Gledhill and Tom Fryer coming in.

Pinfield said: “We have probably 10 or 11 first choice players missing but it is still a strong side.

“Those who have come in get a chance to stake a claim for a regular place.”

Pinfield said that if Halifax got through they would be away to the Aire/Wharfe League and that would be a searching test.

“The team we have got for Sunday is made up of in-form players who can all bat and bowl.
