Tom Denton’s 76 and Josh Ardron’s unbeaten 75 helped the visitors post a decent score but home skipper Darren Robinson’s five for 51 kept his side in it.

Jamie Summerscales hit 77 at the top of the home order. Alex Scholefield (54) and Luke Bridges (33) helped Barkisland get close but it was Shepley who moved through to the quarter finals.

Illingworth were no match for division-higher visitors Rawdon in their last appearance in the Waddilove Cup.

The Jammy Green men, who are switching from the Aire/Wharfe League to the Halifax League next season, were bowled out for 106. Luke Brooksby top scored with 35.

Rawdon wrapped up victory for the loss of only one wicket.

Todmorden have only two teams below them in the Lancashire League after a 79-run defeat at home to second-placed Nelson yesterday.

The Centre Vale men were batted out of the contest in the first half as South African Ryan Bailey hit 126 not out from 133 balls.

The professional put on 115 for the second wicket with opener Russell Bradley (61) and 68 for the fourth wicket with Harrison Phelan (46) as Nelson rattled up 278 for four.
