OLD Brodleians celebrated their most successful ever season with a luxurious evening meal – and a naked run around the pitch.

Brods have finished fifth in the North East One League, and well over 100 players and club members enjoyed an evening meal.

But before they did, all the players who had not scored a try during the season took off their tuxedos and raced around the pitch in the naked handicap hurdles.

The race is held every year and club chairman Richard Turner said there were always a few familiar faces who entered annually.

“Martin Smith and Gareth Taylor take part every year,” he said.

“It’s a very entertaining run and is something everyone enjoys.

“I’ve got no idea who won, but it really doesn’t matter.”

“The whole evening marked what has been a very successful season for us and we’re looking forward to next season already.”

The first team was joined by the second and third team, as well as the Beavers and the Colts squads.
