The cash raised in the raffle – almost £200 – was donated to Rhys Brown for the Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Rhys recently completed a bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise money for this charity in memory of his father, Dr Roger Brown, the former Halifax and Bradford Bulls club doctor, who died of cancer last year.

Prizes were donated by by Keighley Cougars, Bradford Bulls, Howdens Kitchens, Dickies Tiles, Grahams, John Crossley and West Yorkshire Businesses.

The Halifax and District Handicap Cup was presented to Whitehall coach Richard Casanove – the first silverware that Warriors have won.
