DESPITE disappointing weather St Joseph's RC Primary School's football and netball tournament was a huge success.
Twelve teams from the Brighouse and Halifax areas took part in the competition raising £3,000 which will go towards maintaining St Joseph's school buildings.
Lynne Appleyard who helped organise the event said: "There was a great atmosphere and the emphasis was on the children having fun and not competition."
Winners included Greetland Primary School, All Saints Primary School, Halifax, and St Mary's RC School, Halifax.
There was an overall winner's trophy which went to St Mary's and a Fair Play trophy which went to St Chad's C. of E. Junior and Infant School.
