THE Junction narrowly missed a clean sweep as top goal scoring side Rastrick CC won the 2007/2008 Sunday Football League Echo Cup Final at St Giles Road after 120 minutes plus of pulsating football.
More than 100 spectators turned out to watch this game which went within three minutes of going to a penalty shoot-out.
Rastrick CC captain Chris Bishop said: "We were always confident. It was an awesome team effort, something we have displayed all season and today we showed what great team spirit we have."
Player-manager Sean Robinson said: "It's unbelievable. We didn't play to the best of our ability but our teamwork came through on the day."
Junction's top player Matthew Banks was awarded man of the match.
Junction opened the game with a strong start with two corners in quick succession, with Damien Roebuck producing a goal line clearance.
