LINCOLN City's Brighouse-based manager Peter Jackson is steadily easing himself back into work following a course of chemotherapy to treat throat cancer.
Affectionately known as 'Jacko', in and out of the game of professional football, he appeared as a surprise guest on the sofa of ITV Yorkshire's 'Soccer Night' late on Tuesday evening along with presenter Andy Townsend, Hull City hero Dean Windass
and Doncaster Rovers chairman John Ryan.
He said he had wanted to come in and thank all the fans in the game and the clubs like Bradford City, Doncaster and Huddersfield Town who had written to him to lend their support at the lowest time of his life.
The 46-year-old then went on to say that his course finished on April 10 and it had been hard.
"I have gradually been building up each day since then and will next week return to Sincil Bank, but only for one day a week at this moment in time to see how it goes," he said.
"I will work towards increasing that but will not rush things, although I am looking to be back for the pre-season training."
In the meantime his assistant manager Iffy Onura will continue to hold the reins at the ground as the duo no doubt look to strengthen their squad ahead of the players being called back in early July.
