Crafty Cockney eclipsed by local hero Karl

CRAFTY Cockney Eric Bristow warmed up for the start of the televised betfred.com league of legends with a second visit to the Martins Nest in Bradford Road.
Bristow, who was a 5-1 outsider for the first of these league matches across the country shown on Setanta Sports, actually went on to beat Bobby George 7-5 at Purfleet's Circus Tavern.

With several venues in between on Setanta he reappears up North at the Batley Frontier Variety Club on July 18 and at the Spa, Bridlington on August 8.

It was third time lucky for local darts player Karl Nixon, who plays for the New Inn in Bradford Road and who also has thrown for the Martins Nest in the Darts Super League.
