BRIGHOUSE Swimming Club members have turned in some excellent performances recently in the Bradford Gala and then the Airedale and Wharfedale Gala. They followed that up with strong showings at Rykneld and Kirklees and District.
The results of the Brighouse swimmers at Bradford were as follows: Girls 15 years & over 100m Freestyle: Louisa King 1.29.78; Girls 12 years Individual Medley 4 x 25m: Daisy Warburton 1.30.72; Boys 13 years 100m Breaststroke: George Stanley 1.38.87.

At Airedale and Wharfedale results involving Brighouse swimnmers included: were as follows: Boys 9/10 years 50m Backstroke: Joe Snaith 48.66 - 6th place; Girls 9/10 years 50m Backstroke: Amy Donovan 44.72 - 3rd place; Hilary Thornton 47.19 - 5th place; Melissa Knapton 51.25; Boys 11/12 years 50m Breaststroke: Henry Thornton 51.90 - 6th place.

Results from Rykneld Swimming Club's 'B' Grade Open Meet were: Girls 15 years+ 100m IM: Donna Clayton 1st - 1.16.62 - Gold Sprint Award; Boys 13 years 100m IM: George Stanley 4th - 1.27.66 (PB 1.64) - Gold Sprint Award; Boys 10 years 50m Backstroke: Gianni Vienza 1st - 44.35 - Silver Sprint Award.

Boys 9 years 50m Backstroke: James Stanley 10th - 51.37 - new time - Bronze Sprint Award; Girls 15 years+ 100m Breaststroke: Donna Clayton 5th - 1.30.63 - Platinum Sprint Award; Boys 13 years 100m Breaststroke: George Stanley 9th - 1.40.78 - Gold Sprint Award; Boys 10 years 50m Butterfly: Gianna Vienza 2nd - 44.83 (PB 0.58) - Silver Sprint Award.

Girls 15 years+ 100m Freestyle: Donna Clayton 2nd 1.07.56 (PB 3.04) - Platinum Sprint Award; Boys 13 years 100m Freestyle: George Stanley 8th - 1.16.48 - Platinum Sprint Award; Girls 15 years+ 100m Butterfly: Donna Clayton 5th - 1.22.92 - Platinum Sprint Award; Boys 10 years 50m Breaststroke: Gianni Vienza 14th - 56.24 - Bronze Sprint Award; Boys 9 years 50m Breaststroke: James Stanley 12th - 59.63 - new time - Bronze Sprint Award; Girls 15 years+ 100m Backstroke: Donna Clayton 1st - 1.17.28 (PB 0.52) - Platinum Sprint Award; Girls 15 years+ 50m Freestyle: Donna Clayton 1st - 31.51 (PB 1.21) - Gold Sprint Award.

Boys 9 years 50m Freestyle: James Stanley 6th - 43.10 - new time - Bronze Sprint Award; Boys 10 years 50m Freestyle: Gianni Vienza 6th - 40.32 - Silver Sprint Award; Boys 13 years 50m Freestyle: George Stanley 5th - 33.05 (PB 0.35) - Gold Sprint Award.

Results from Kirklees and District's Gala were: Masters 25m Butterfly: Jon Snaith 1st - 22.4; Boys 11 years 50m Backstroke: Henry Thornton 2nd - 58.84; Boys 13 years 4 x 25m IM: George Stanley 2nd - 2.02.5; Girls 15 years 100m Backstroke: Louisa King 1st - 1.32.65.
