THE weather has left Brighouse Town manager Mark Brier's training schedule in tatters ahead of what would was scheduled to be a home league game on Saturday with Hemsworth MW.
"It's the logistics of it all, getting all the players there from the likes of Tadcaster, Leeds, Wakefield and in the case of Daniel Tronzcak from Bradshaw, high above Halifax," said Brier.
He had to dig his way out of his drive last Saturday mornin
g to get to a daylight session we had before watching the reserve team play.
"We also have to consider the car park at the ground and the safety of the players out on the roads when they have come in from a day's work. We need them to be safe and with their families when we have conditions like we have right now.
"They are sensible lads and I know they will take responsibility to training on their own wherever they can on some of the gym exercises we have gone through.
"Right now the Thursday session looks like it will have to be knocked on the head and our secretary Malcolm (Taylor) was saying he expected a directive from the league looking at a blanket postponement of the whole fixture list this weekend.
"Its frustrating and we need to keep the lads together and that was why it was good last Saturday that we could have a session and then watch the game together. You can train in the snow and have some banter and fun as well and we will see if that can be arranged for Saturday, weather and road conditions permitting.
"Our new loanee from Ossett Albion, Matt Sparkes, had a session with us last Saturday and got to meet the lads, which was good.
"It was also good for Darren (Attwood) and myself to get Andy Markham and Lee Malcher a run out with the reserves and great to see Andy Philp, who played in the first team against Eccleshill, having a tremendous game for manager Rick Addy.
"As you will see in the match report their keeper kept them in the game, denying Town some five or six more goals."
Town will look at re-arrangements home and away once they have seen the back of this present cold spell, the next midweek game being a League Cup tie at Emley on Wednesday, January 20.
