An 18-year-old has been charged with causing damage to a bench in a memorial park for soldiers who lost their lives in wars and conflicts.
The damage was caused to a bench within Bailiff Bridge Memorial Park on June 2. Names were scratched into the bench.
With the assistance of Calderdale Council Wardens, the CCTV cameras in the park were checked and footage was obtained.
Due to the high quality of the images the suspect was identified and on July 3.
An 18-year-old was arrested and later charged with the offence, together with another offence of taking a motor vehicle without the owners consent which he also committed on the June 2.
The youth will appear in court on August 11.
