Young historians got the chance to travel back in time to Egypt in the time of the pharoahs at a fun activity session at Brighouse Library.
Based on the popular Horrible Histories series by Terry Deary, the craft morning gave children aged from five to eight the opportunity to have a go at cracking a hieroglyph code, make Egyptian artefacts and take part in a fun mummy challenge.
Fiona Willats, of Calderdale libraries and galleries, said: “Children are fascinated by Ancient Egypt and some of them were telling me things I didn’t know! It’s just a different way of bringing history to life. They enjoyed cracking the code and made some lovely jewellery and an Egyptian collar. They even enjoyed hearing the details about the process of mummification.”
