l A reet grand Yorkshire do is promised at the Old White Beare’s summer ball on Saturday, July 20 from 7pm.
The annual bash has become a high point of the summer at the Norwood Green pub.
This year’s knees-up features a three-course meal - all the food will have a Yorkshire flavour - with drinks on arrival and live entertainment from a band and DJ. On the menu will be asparagus spears, Yorkshire-reared loin of pork and vanilla and strawberry cheesecake.
Revellers are invited to wear Yorkshire-themed dress - will it be tweed jackets and flat caps or as the white rose of York?
l TONIGHT (Thursday) at the Barge, Brighouse, the jam session is with Mick Brown and the Pychoslinkys. On Friday, Party Rock Band Storm will take to the stage.
On Saturday Michelle and Julian will welcome rock band The Carnival and on Sunday there is a bonus extra gig with Dave Kennedy and Ian Crabtree from 5pm, performing acoustic blues, Americana and Blue Grass.
