l The Old Pond in Hove Edge is holding a charity event, in aid of The Faye Knowles Chapman Foundation on Saturday from 7.30pm. To raise funds for the charity, Faye’s mother Eileen and new landlady Helen Crawshaw have arranged an evening of fun and entertainment, including a performance by “?ndecision”, raffle prizes and a charity auction. The pub is also undergoing a large refurbishment, in partnership with Punch Taverns, later in the summer, which will keep the traditional village pub feel, but with a fresher look.
l Roy Pape at The Robin Hood has live music this Saturday evening from Pete Crosby. He will take to the microphone at 7.30pm. “Pete always goes down well and we will be making it a fortnightly event” said Roy.
l Now the weather seems to have picked up Steve ‘Zingy’ Ingle at the Junction, Rastrick, is getting ready to fire up the barbecues and is also looking to introduce an open mic night on a Wednesday or Thursday so anyone interested should call in. There is a race trip planned for June 29 to Chester with spaces still available. Depending on how many attend it is approximately £25 for travel and entrance to the races.
l Tonight (Thursday) at the Barge it’s the weekly jam session with Mick Brown and on Friday evening The Savages will take to the stage. On Saturday it’s the turn of the Porch Lizards.
l Maxine Maragh at the Rock will celebrate four years at the pub in August and will host a celebration party. In the meantime it’s business as usual with the popular quiz on a Friday night. It is 50 pence per person to enter with a free supper and a chance to be entered for the jackpot question with a cash prize.
It’s karaoke on Saturday from 9pm with guest DJs and Caribbean food.
l Blakeborough’s Social and Sports Club, Brighouse, is holding a 1960s night on Saturday with entertainment from Vince Berry from 8pm.
