Warnings issued over storms

Calderdale residents have been urged to take care and plan ahead during the windy weather.

The Highways Agency has issued a warning for drivers to take care in high and exposed areas following gusts of over 93mph.

Residents have been asked to avoid Ogden Water for their own safety.

There’s a tree down on Granny Hall Lane, Brighouse.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Dave Walton said: “The public can do their bit to keep everyone safe by ensuring items are stowed away, properly tied down or secured in high winds.

“We have had incidents in the past where trampolines have been blocking roadways and it can cause traffic havoc.”
