ONE lucky customer at a Brighouse fashion shop will receive a special treat for Christmas.

Bon Marche in King Street is hoping to raise vital funds for Help for Heroes - the charity that helps servicemen and women returning from conflict - by raffling a chocolate hamper.

All the chocolates have been donated by the staff and it has been kindly been gifted wrapped by staff at Flower Garden in Commercial Street, Brighouse.

Raffle tickets cost £1 and all the proceeds will be donated to Help for Heroes, which is part of the national chain’s attempt to raise £10,000 for the charity by Christmas.

Janet Timewell, who has helped to organise the raffle, said: “Help for Heroes is such a good charity we wanted to do something to help. Our customers and staff are always very supportive of our charitable efforts and I hope they will help us with this one.”

The store is also having its memorial tree again this year and customers can write a special message to a loved one for a small donation which will be donated to Macmillan, the local store’s charity.

In return they will receive a Christmas decoration for their own tree. Messages can be left up until Christmas.

Macmillan helps to improve the lives of people affected by cancer and has been widely supported by customers at the store over the past few years.
