It is believed that a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided with a white Scania refrigerated truck, which was stationary on the hard shoulder. Another white HGV then collided with the van.

No-one was seriously injured in the crash, although the van driver was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as a precaution.

Officers from the Western Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the HGV in the hard shoulder prior to the collision or the manner of driving of either of the other vehicles involved.

Anyone with information should call the team via 101.
