Thought of the Week: Take time out to recharge batteries

Phew, what a busy time it’s been recently, in our own town, and right across the world!

The World Cup, the Tour De France, Wimbledon and, much closer to home, the 1940’s weekend, Brighouse Gala and the Band Contest. There’s been so much to see and do, to plan and organise.

It’s been the same story in our local schools too, with end of term concerts, leavers’ services, transition days, pupil reports and parent’s evenings. Now that it’s all over maybe it’s time for a breather.

This time of year is traditionally when families take time out to spend time together, maybe going on holiday, enjoying day trips to the seaside or countryside. Spending quality time with those we love.

Not everyone can manage it around this time, but if you can it’s a good idea to take some time out to re-charge the batteries. In the Christian tradition this is an important idea - find out more next week….
