Theatre group gears up for busy season

IT was the turn of members of Brighouse Theatre Productions to be entertained in style - instead of putting on the entertainment - when they held their annual dinner at Crow Nest Golf Club.

More than 60 members of the Brighouse society were joined by guests from other drama and opera societies in Halifax and Cleckheaton.

The dinner was hosted by chairman Richard Mitchell and president Robert Longward.

Brighouse Theatre Productions is now busy planning for future shows which include its annual family carol concert on Thursday, December 12 at Central Methodist Church and the ever-popular pantomime which this year is ‘Beauty and the Beast’ from January 22 to 26.

The society is also hard at work preparing for the main show of next year - Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ - which will be staged from April 1 to 5. There is still time for anyone to get involved either on-stage or behind the scenes. Anyone interested should contact the secretary Lynn Taylor on 01484 719689.
