Swinging in the 1940s

Venturing out to the 1940’s weekend last Sunday along with the thousands of others that attended, I made my way around the various streets and came across a busy Richard Oastler, inside and out.

Drinkers basking in the sunshine were treated to some 1940’s entertainment when an old army vehicle pulled up in the square with a record player and speaker and out jumped half a dozen dancers clad in 1940’s costumes who proceeded to dance round the square. Spotted joining in the movement ahead of his rock and roll gig at the Commercial/Railway Inn was local DJ Jiving Jeff Greenwood who did a few turns before stepping back to watch. The Cotton Town Hot Club Band and the 1940s swing dancers went down a storm at the Black Bull on the Saturday inside and out.
