IT was third time lucky for hairdresser Gary Taylor who has been awarded the title of North Western Hairdresser of the Year.
Gary who owns Edward and Co in Bradford Road, Brighouse, walked away with the title at HJ’s prestigious British Hairdressing Awards.
At the awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, the British Hairdressing Awards, now in their 28th year, are the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing industry, celebrating the creativity of the inspirational British hairdressing industry.
The evening was compered by comedian and television personality David Walliams with entertainment provided by chart topping Labrinth.
Gary firstly had to compete against salons from the whole of Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire to take his place in the Grand Final and then had to compete further against five other selected stylists within the much sought-after category and was absolutely overwhelmed to be announced as the winner of ‘North Western Hairdresser of the Year’ prestigious title.
Gary said: “I have been nominated for this award twice before so to finally win the title of North Western Hairdresser of the Year is a dream come true, it means so much to not only myself but everyone connected with Edward & Co. This award is also a great tribute to the fantastic hairdressing talent and creativity within West Yorkshire.
This has been a fantastic year for the entire team at Edward & Co. and I would like to dedicate this award to them as without their amazing help and support it would not have been possible.”
Jayne Lewis-Orr of Hairdressers Journal International, said: “Gary should be very proud to have won this award.”
