THE popular Totally Locally street market returns to Brighouse by public demand on Bank Holiday Saturday, August 25.
Launched in 2009, Totally Locally is the innovative shop local campaign that has helped to change shopping habits and encourage people to use their local town centres.
Lesley Adams, chairman of Brighouse Business Initiative, said: “The popularity of the Brighouse food and crafts market has grown and grown and the event has now become synonymous with offering visitors the chance to buy great quality local produce at a fabulous price.
“It’s a wonderful event as the markets are now more than just a chance to stock up on wonderful local food and drink - they are also a great event for families to visit.”
New stallholders at this month’s market will include Little Red Berry who make alcoholic fruit liqueurs and Porkshire from Southowram selling locally reared pork.
Youngsters will be able to enjoy rides on a miniature steam train and traditional fairground rides.
There will be a hot food banquet, a hog roast, a Mongolian stir fry in addition to refreshments at Brighouse Rest Centre, Park Row.
Brighouse’s Totally Locally street markets have developed a loyal following over the past two years and now attract people from a wide area.
The market starts at 9am and runs to 3pm with stalls set up in town centre streets.
Lesley said: “Visiting the market is a great family day out with a fabulous range of entertainment and activities available. We hope people will flock to it.”
