An unusual race night at Bailiff Bridge Community Centre will raise funds for Guide Dog puppy training classes.

Organised by the Weest Yorkshire branch of Guide Dogs, the indoor pig race tomorrow, November 8, will feature six pink clockwork pigs competing on a table top track. There will be six races which can be sponsored for £30 or individual pigs can be sponsored for £5.

Nicola Morgan, puppy training supervisor, said: “While many of our puppy class venues are given free, some ask for a small hire payment and it is these that we need to fund.

“A pig race is great fun for children and adults and we hope to sell enough tickets to cover venue charges for another year.”

Puppy training classes are aimed at socialising new pups and starting them on basic training. Puppies come to the class with their walkers to be taught how to respond to other people, dogs and simple commands.

The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets at £7.50 include a pie and pea supper with a vegetarian option. For tickets contact Sue Summersgill on 07856 321373.
