The search has begun for this year’s Brighouse Charity Gala Queen and her attendant.
Auditions will take place for the important roles on Monday, April 28 at Prego’s Restaurant in Brighouse.
The auditions are being organised by Brighouse Ladies Circle.
Vice-chair Nicky Fox said: “We are looking forward to girls coming along and auditioning in the hope of becoming an ambassador for Brighouse both on Gala day and in their local community throughout their year as Gala Queen.”
Girls must be aged 16 or over on Gala Day, which this year will take place on Saturday, June 28, and will be judged on personality and enthusiasm for the role.
They must also live, work or go to school in the Brighouse area.
Anyone interested will be asked to meet the judging panel which will include members of Brighouse Ladies Circle and the Gala Committee as well as the current Gala Queen, Georgina Thornton.
The girl chosen to take on this special role will receive £150 for an outfit for Gala Day and her attendant will receive £100 for an outfit.
The Queen and her attendant, along with last year’s Gala Queen, will be driven to the field in style as part of the procession.
She will be officially crowned at the opening ceremony in the field at Wellholme Park on Bradford Road.
Arrangements have been made for the girls to have their hair styled and make up done by Park Row Hair and Beauty and flowers will be provided on the day from both Simply Flowers and Eliza’s Flower Basket.
Last year around 10,000 people visited Brighouse Gala and enjoyed the Gala procession and an afternoon of activities at Wellholme Park.
The procession cavalcade featured Georgina Thornton and her attendant Crystal Wheelhouse-Brown who also officially opened the Gala.
The 2013 Gala raised £22,000 for good causes and charities in the Brighouse area.
