THE search to find this year’s Brighouse Charity Gala Queen has begun.
The girl selected will officially take over at the gala in June. Girls, who must be between 16 to 21 years of age on gala day, June 25, will be judged on their personality and enthusiasm.
Brighouse Ladies’ Circle members, who are responsible for the gala queen selection, hope to see a good response.
“We are looking for a Gala Queen who can be an ambassador for and represent Brighouse,” said Ladies Circle chairman, Penny Daynes.
The girl chosen to take on the job will receive £150 for an outfit for gala day, and her attendant will receive £100 also for a new outfit. Arrangements will be made for the girls to have their hair styled at Park Row hairdressers and make-up by Just Beauty and flowers will be provided for the occasion from Simply Flowers. As well as being between 16 and 21 on gala day the girls must live, work or go to school in the Brighouse area.
“The gala queen has been a long standing tradition and is an essential role at Gala. We are very grateful to the businesses that support the Gala Queen and give their services for free year after year,”
