A funeral home in Brighouse is inviting people to visit and decorate a Christmas tree with cards in memory of loved ones who have died.
For the 7th year the Co-operative Funeralcare on Huddersfield Road are asking friends and families to leave memorial cards on their tree, until 24 December.
Manager, Jared Barker, said: “We know that Christmas and New Year, in particular, is a time when people look back and remember those they’ve lost and we hope our memorial tree will benefit families concerned at this time. It has always proved to be a great help for relatives and friends in the past when we have offered a memorial tree in honour of those who have died.”
For the first time they are also putting on a memorial carol service which will take place at St Martin’s Parish Church on Church Lane, on 20 December at 7pm. Festive refreshments will be available along with carols and a period of reflection, anyone is invited you do not have to leave a card on the tree.
The funeral home is open from 8.30am until 5pm and people are invited to come in at any time to leave a memorial card on the tree which is the reception area.
