The UKIP Calderdale Branch has announced its candidate for the Calder Valley in next year’s General Election.
Paul Rogan, who has lived in Stainland for more than 40 years will be challenging the seat. He trained in the carpet industry in Halifax and continues to work in the textile sector.
Speaking ahead of his campaign he said: “Over the years I have witnessed good and bad times and seen a massive wealth creator and employer diminish. Many of my friends and colleagues had to face the loss of their livelihoods and retrain to find new work to support their families.
“The governing elite has lost touch with the majority of the people and UKIP is the party which is of the people and for the people and UKIP will never forget that.”
Mr Rogan has previously been a councillor for the Rastrick ward.
