Overgate Hospice has launched its 2015 calendar and will show some of the sites across Calderdale painted by artists.
Members of the Halifax Art Society have worked with the hospice for 12 years.
Each year members are invited to submit several pieces and the fundraising team at the hospice select the pieces that it is felt best represent the months of the year.
Talking about this year’s paintings that will feature in the calendar, secretary Janet Gledhill said: “We feel proud and honoured to support such a worthy cause as Overgate. Knowing we are part of the fundraising that is so vital to the continuation of the services the hospice provides for our area give a purpose to our painting.”
The calendars are available to buy from the hospice, its 11 charity shops, the hospice website and at a variety of hairdressers throughout Calderdale.
Priced at £3 each, the full amount goes to fund services at the hospice.
As the 2015 calendar will coincide with the society’s 140th birthday, the group will release the original paintings in the calendar for sale, with 20 per cent of the proceeds going to the hospice.
